Have you ever wished you were born in another place or another time? Let me just tell you, I would have been born any other time when there weren't any cars! They are such a headache, and end up costing me way too much money. I think Shane and I must have some of the worst luck. When we had first gotten married and moved to Nampa we had two cars, an Oldsmobile and a Ford. One night Shane was driving home from work at around 12:00am and the Ford died on the freeway and he proceeded to push it to the nearest Wendy's and waited for me to come pick him up. That same night I was working until 2:00am doing a store audit and when I finally got off, the Oldsmobile wouldn't start and I was a half and hour away from home. We ended up having to call our aunt Sherry who thankfully, (we love you and still appreciate you for this) was still awake and picked me up in Boise and drove me to Nampa to pick up Shane and then drove us home. The next day we went about getting our cars fixed. For the Ford we replaced the battery, then got a flat tire, and then had to replace the alternator before bringing it home. The Oldsmobile we had towed to a dealership to have the anti theft solenoid replaced. We drove it home to Nampa when the fuel pump failed, so we had to retow that one and replace that before finally bringing it home as well. All of these repairs happened within three days of each other and we were living on a Newlywed budget so I definitely felt like the world was over. Well since then we have been super blessed with our cars, until April 11th, anyway. Shane and I were heading to Utah to go to my sister's wedding reception when we got a flat tire on the freeway between two cities, (they were brand new tires and Les Schwab couldn't figure out why we had gotten a flat). We fixed that and just yesterday the Ford went out again. We br
ought it to the dealership I work at and my Shop foreman took the car, diagnosed it and then repaired it without charging me any labor, I only had to pay for the parts at my employee rate! Thank goodness for working in the automotive business, see it really does have its perks. Well he saved us over $500.00 and we thought we were getting away lucky until we got home and it wasn't fixed, but actually had gotten worse. We wasted the money for nothing. After hearing the diagnosis and the total today, let me just say, Rest In Peace Ford, because you aren't worth the money I have to put into you. Shane and I are down to one car now. Did I forget to mention, I hate cars!!
