Sometimes life is unfair...

Well it's been at least a month since I was informed we were making cut backs at work. After telling me, and getting me all upset about having to lose some of my employees, they then changed their mind and decided to keep them. So last week we had a meeting with the said employee to improve performance and make sure that we could keep them around for the long haul. That happened on Thursday afternoon and this morning around 11:30 I was told we were again going to let this person go. I wasn't however informed until five minutes prior to letting them go that I was the one who got to do it. I've never been in a managerial position and after today I can tell you, I never want to be. I like my cozy little world, in my crowded little office, where my job only affects me and I'm the only one who can make a dent in my own work load, and today stepping outside of my comfort zone made me realize I'm not ready to take on any more challenges in my field. I'm happy with my job completely as is.
