New Year, New Me?

Isn't it funny that when a New Year approaches we all spend time reflecting on our flaws and quirks, longing to change our weaknesses. This year I tried to be strong and tried not to develop any New Year's Resolutions, but there are several things I would long to change. So here I sit wondering what is the most important things I would like to change? If I'm going to crumble and follow the wave of resolutions that I never follow through, I might as well pick the most meaningful.
A little list of the things I would change would range from...
1. Buy a house
2. Adopt a baby
3. Live a budget strictly
4. Find Shane a new job
5. Finish School
6. Lose Weight
7. Visit my family (extended and the like) once a month minimum
8. Learn to and enjoy cooking

There are several more I could change and several more I might try but for now it's just nice to recognize that there is work to be done. My New Year's resolution is simply to BUY A HOUSE! That's what I'm going to put my whole heart and soul into. I would love to have a backyard for my dog. I would love for everything to have a place, and if it didn't to make a place for it. (That's so hard in apartments) I would love to have three bedrooms instead of two so that my office/workout room wouldn't be so crowded. I would love to have a garage to park our cars in so as not to have to scrape windows each morning. I especially long for a walk in closet so as not to risk breaking anymore cheaply made ones. And lastly I long for a kitchen that I feel like I can enjoy cooking in. I need more space and I think Shane and I need to feel like we have something of our own, to feel like we've accomplished something great!
Wish me luck!

great goal! Kyle and I didn't buy our first house until we had been married 7 years. We love it. I hope things work out for you. If you want to see some of my resolutions, check out my scrap blog. I made a page about it.

I hope you have GREAT luck with that this year! We'll love to hear how everything goes...the progress, the shopping, the saving...just everything! We're rootin' for you (but also warning you...it's a lot of work...and when those closets break it's YOU that gets to fix it!)

don't be in such a hurry to buy a house. With jobs not so secure and all the money that has to go into a house. You never know until you are stuck there and can't afford to fix anything or if you have to it suck up a lot of money. It's all those unexpected things that cost sooo much. I understand the desperation of a house and we had three kids and lots of stuff cramped into a tiny apartment.
We could not even think about getting a house until my husband was done with school and got a better job. Morgages cost a lot of money and if you lose your job or can't make payments then it effects your credit for the rest of your life. The bills are a lot more cuz there is a lot more space to heat and cool. maybe you could find a townhouse or another apartment with a backyard. We could not even have a dog for 12 years when we finally got a house.
the adoption thing is a little more reasonable cuz you can start by filling out the butload of paper work that has to be done.
Then you have to spend many, many hours in classes. There three couples in our ward that have done it and I have heard all about everything that you have to do and go through. They do a house check too. That's when you need a house because of all the strick rules. You have to nail bookshelves into walls and baby proof the whole house. I don't even know all the details but, it is a lot of work and you have to have the time to go to all the classes and stuff.
I don't want to bring your spirits down or anythihg. Those are good goals to have but, believe me from experience reality hits hard and it can be a real downer. It is better to have patience and be more prepared.

If you really want help to be your healthiest you have to trust and listen to me. I have lots of experience and I have done lots of research. For $32.00 a week if you drink 4oz which you don't have to you can stretch one bottle out for two weeks by drinking 2oz a day. You can still get great results by drinking only a little bit a day.
It is cheaper to buy one case which is four bottles. The shipping is way cheap too. If you look at what fruits are in it and the fact that you can't get most of them at the store. It is way cheap. I promise it actually works and there is nothing that compares to this. It cleans all the crap and poisins out of your body and then you start dropping weight. I lost weight and that was not my goal. I was just surprised. It was a great surprise. I will give you all my login information so you can order and I won't get anything out of it so this is not a sales pitch or anything. It really actually works and I see the results. Like anything you have to give it a chance. It's not a drug so it may take some time. Check out all the information. Go to monavie.com or go to youtube.com and type in monavie. It is making everyone all over the world healthier. I know of at least 6 Dr.'s that are drinking it.
My husband being a nurse sees how great it is. If you don't want to do it then check out Oprah's website she has tons of great info on losing weight. Dr.Phil has a book that has a great system and helps you get rid of the emotional fat also. You should also go see a Dr. and have a blood test done and have your thyroid checked. There are so many reasons why people gain weight you have to make a list and start breaking it down to figure out what you are doing wrong and what is going to work for you to change things. ok, let me know and good luck.
