For someone who had never stepped foot on a plane just eight months ago, I’ve become quite the seasoned flyer thanks to my job. Just this afternoon I was informed that I was going to be making an emergency flight to Portland for half the day on Friday to be informed about updated training guidelines for the current year because my boss came down with a cold and has asked me to go in his stead. I love flying now and the only thing that scares me so to speak is the before and the after. I for some reason have troubles with security and rental cars. Going to Portland is also always tough because the training center isn’t actually in Portland but in Tualatin about 25 minutes away. I get to transfer to three different interstates just to make it there, the speed limit is only 55, and at rush hour traffic it takes me almost an hour to make it back to the airport just in time for my flight. I’m excited to go because the more experience I have with flying the better, but I wish they weren’t such quick trips and I also would love to have my husband by my side. Luckily I will make it back in time for Valentine’s Day, the BSU basketball game, and dinner with one of my bosses and his wife. How’s that for living spontaneously?

WAY braver than me!
I love to fly also, but like you don't like the getting there and leaving there. It is so much more stressful than just sitting in the plane and letting someone else do the driving/flying. Good luck and have fun!
Mindi :)
I hate business trips....ONLY because of being away from Mike..and Max..and Joey :) and maybe some other reasons. Ok, so they just don't suit me well. But the traveling part is good experience! Lucky you!
