What a Week! Recap...

Wow we've had quite and emotional, exciting, and up and down roller coaster week this last few days. It all started on Saturday night a week ago when we got a phone call telling us that Mom and Dad Gropp and Kristian and Tyrel would be in Idaho on Sunday afternoon. Sunday morning we woke up, went to church, and then counted down what seemed like days for our family to arrive. I passed the time scrapbooking and Shane passed the time reading his new book. When Mom and Dad and the boys arrived we spent the night talking and laughing and relaxing. I had to be to work early Monday morning and so I had to head to bed earlier than the rest but it was nice to visit and catch up.

Here are the pages I made while waiting.
Monday was a whirlwind day at work. We had eliminated our cashier position at work on Friday and were having a trial run with our new policies on Monday and it was my job to ensure everything was running smoothly, as well as completing our month end reports and doing my normal daily tasks, oh and did I mention the boss was away. Monday after work Shane, I, Mom, Dad, the boys, and Summer all went to visit Grandma Gropp. Uncle Chris, Lynnae, Aunt Marala, and Uncle Les and Aunt Sherry were all there as well. Tol and Nikki and their three boys showed up to visit for a little while too. It was great to be around so much family but really hard to leave when it was time to go home and go to bed.

On Tuesday after another extremely exhausting day at work for both Shane and I we met up for a "girl's night" and "boy's night" respectively. The girls went to Red Robin and the boys to Chili's. It was so good to get out with the girls and joke and laugh. I absolutely love my cousin Lynnae and it was so great to get to spend some quality time with her. She is an absolute riot.
Wednesday morning Mom and Dad and the boys said goodbye, Shane and I went to work and then crashed from exhaustion.

Thursday we had work again, Shane received the news that he was demoted back into the wash bay at his dealership because they've had a hard time finding someone to fill the position, we attended our adoption meeting and were so incredibly overwhelmed with all that that entails, and were told we had until the end of the month to vacate our apartment because our lease was up (even though we extended through June just a couple of months back). We were then forced to make the ultimate decision of where to go and what to do and to our utter disappointment we settled on staying here in this little apartment for one more year. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful place and it's been great but we were really looking forward to a home and a new place seeing as we've been here for two years already.
So this is home for awhile...

Friday we decided to take on a second dog whom we named Bear. He was a purebred Miniature Doberman and he was very cute and gentle. However upon bringing him home he proceeded to cuddle in a corner and growl anytime Shane, I or Boomer would walk near. He and Boomer did not get along, Bear would not eat and when he did would throw up and then he wouldn't relieve himself either. Friday night we again met up with Lynnae and Chris and Les and Sherry at Grandma's house. We got home and exhausted hit the sack whilst sharing the bed with two dogs.
Saturday we got up early and picked up Lynnae to take her shopping for a skirt, I went to a beautiful baptism of a really great friend and former co-worker, and then spent the remainder of the afternoon in company with family. Shane, Lynnae and I visited the Boise Co-Op for the first time and we went to lunch together before heading back to Grandma's. We came home late and after discussing the fate of Bear and Boomer and their dislike for one another we decided to return the dog to his original owner and then went grocery shopping.

Sunday night we spent the day and evening at Grandma's house playing games, eating homemade mac and cheese and picking at Carmel popcorn. We said our goodbyes to our wonderful Uncle Chris and Lynnae and headed home where I sat to write this before heading off to bed to start a week that I don't feel quite rested for.
