Fishbowl...

Have you ever gone somewhere and felt like you were in a fishbowl? Wondered if and why everyone was staring at you? Wondered if you looked like a fool?
Lately that's exactly how I feel when I'm at the gym.
I must confess, I'm the biggest people watcher there, people must think I'm checking them out or something, which I guess I am as I scope out technique or to try to figure out exactly what the heck they are doing and what muscle that was supposed to work...
Because of this, I'm also keenly aware of all of the people staring at me. Especially while working out with my trainer because first of all she has me do crazy things like this funky scorpion move, a balancing move where I raise my lanky legs (which notably take up half of the gym walkaway if I'm using correct form), and also walking on the treadmill backwards, but secondly because people assume that because you are working with a "Professional" they can learn some awesome tips and techniques. (Even though I can attest sometimes even the trainers don't have any idea what they are doing)
It definitely makes for an awkward workout. Who wants to be stared at while you are dripping sweat, turning red, and grunting under the extreme weight load you are trying to lift. Surely not me!

All I can say, is try to ignore it...that kind of thing ALWAYS thwarts me in my exercise. That sounds frustrating though
