This past weekend, Shane and I made the trek to St. Anthony to spend time with Mom and Dad. We had originally planned on going for Shane's best friend's wedding, but that was put on hold so we decided to go anyway.
My little brother Jared, gets home from his mission in just 44 days and knowing that my parents house will be full, lively, and chaotic, we decided to help them prepare for his homecoming.
Mom and Dad bought the land and then built their house. It has an unfinished basement and that has become the storage unit. When my parents were married they had to combine two households and they rented for many years always living out of boxes. These boxes found a home in the basement. Now having a place of their own they've started using some of these boxes and others not so much. Because of this, things got moved around, lost, forgotten about etc... in the process of everyday life. The basement quickly became a mess.
Everyone who knows my Mom knows she is a crafter. She has everything under the sun, so you can imagine the stuff and her craft room is in the basement along with the laundry room, food storage room, family room, and extra bedroom-all of which are storage rooms right now.
Knowing that we needed to organize (my favorite thing to do) Mom and I took the basement and cleaned for six hours! We didn't finish, but we made such progress. (Shane and Dad were working in the yard with the six foot weeds) Maybe soon we will go and finish the project. We had such a good time and can't wait to visit again. 44 DAYS!
