This year, I've decided to finally heed the counsel we've been given and build our food storage. We literally started from scratch this year and have been off to a good start.
(I guess better late than never seeing as there have been three earthquakes all over 5.0 magnitude in two weeks... did you even know about the other two? one in Venezuela and one off Guatemala, but no one hears about them because they didn't cause the damage that Haiti has suffered)
We've decided that the best way to build our own storage is to buy two of every item we typically buy. One goes to the cupboards for immediate use and the other goes to storage. We've also decided that we have to be proactive in ensuring that we rotate our cupboards and storage often to guarantee good shelf life of all items. Can I just say I love Costco, it's the reason we are as far as we are.
