How Do You Do Christmas...

Life has been kind of miserable the last couple of months and I've desperately needed change.  It's been hard to be here by ourselves and not see much family around the holidays.  We had the same problem last year.  I got really bitter and upset last year and because of that, I refused to even decorate for Christmas.  I only used the very topmost part of my tree and put it on a bookshelf.  I didn't put lights up and I never even turned the ones connected to the tree on.  This year is different.  This year, in hopes of having a much better spirit for the holidays, I went all out.  The lights have been on every day and I'm feeling great about the wonderful days ahead.  I can't explain how or why, but DECEMBER is going to be a GREAT month.  I have high hopes for the next several days!  Here's how we are doing Christmas this year...
The woodsy Christmas tree is new this year and I absolutely love it.  They were cheap too and so I'm thinking of buying several more.

I went all out on my mantle this year because I'm pretty sure I won't have a fireplace at our new place and this is our last Christmas in this place.
I love this old window.  It actually was supposed to be an art project and I didn't want to put it away and forget about it so I propped it against the wall.  I liked the way it looked next to my plant and so I just started decorating around it.  By the way that lovely little plant was a Christmas gift from my parents last year and we've managed to keep it alive!  In fact, it's growing beautifully.
Just for added measure, Boomer really wanted to be in the picture because he kept walking through the frames of the several pictures I had to take.  Since he is absolutely adorable, I decided he could stay long enough for me to capture a good one

Merry Christmas to you all!  I hope your homes and hearts are bright.
