Although we are still about a month away from moving, I can't help myself and have been on a packing spree. It helps that we are closing on the house any day now, but it's definitely starting to feel a little empty around here. Half my closet is missing and I'm down to picking just my favorites each day, the decor is all boxed and the apartment looks kind of sad and dreary, food storage is in boxes, guest bedroom is completely packed, and all of our little homey touches are gone.
The built in entertainment center wasn't functional for flat screens and so we also had to modify this waste of space. We built another shelf, which was a much greater success, and used it as a place to decorate. Some months we crammed it full of new finds, and others we tried to keep it minimal.
Here the wasted space is now...
Clearly, I need to dust. Sorry for the Christmas pictures, they are the only ones not safely packed
away at this point.
As excited as we are to buy our first house, there is sadness in leaving this dreadful place because we've spent almost 4 years growing up here. It's getting empty and lonely amidst all of our excitement and thrill for something new. Even worse, when we told our apartments we were vacating they placed one of those real estate locks on our door but haven't changed the locks yet and so it feels like we haven't paid our rent and we are being evicted.
So soon, counting down the days. Pictures of the new place to come soon!
