New Year's in Utah

Because we spent Christmas in Washington we decided to head to Utah for New Year's.  My family minus Jared and Megan were all together.  We spent time with everyone and even got to see Mitch, April, Marisa, and Daniel who we don't get to see as much as we'd like.  We stopped in Tremonton on New Year's Eve to stay with my dad because we didn't want to spend New Year's in the car and the roads weren't fantastic so we were ready to be done.  Saturday we woke up and drove to Salt Lake.  We had Swedish pancakes that Mom made at Steph's house with all of the kids and then we all gathered together for a lunch at Mitch and April's.  We had a soup that was supposed to bring good luck for all in the coming year.  I remember what it was called but I forget how to spell it, but it suffices me to say that it was delicious!  Shane brought home leftovers.  Saturday night we tried to get together with Chelsea, Sterling, Lucy, Summer, and Chad to see the Temple Square lights since it was the last night for them.  After having a difficulty with scheduling and the cold we decided to go alone but were actually able to meet up with Summer and Chad after all because they didn't go to the Jazz game and had such a wonderful time it was even better because they knew where to park so we scored free parking.  Shane had never been there before and had never had the chance to see the lights or enjoy the awesome spirit so I wanted to make the trip no matter how late or cold.  It was so worth it!  He loved it and so much has changed since my last time there.  After Temple Square we headed back to Steph's where we hung out and played with little Abby.  She's such a doll and she had us laughing the entire time.  My sister calls me Brat for a nickname and when you ask Abby where Aunt Brat is she points and smiles, it is adorable!  This morning we headed back to Tremonton to say hello again and pick up Boomer before heading home.  We had a great trip but we are so done with traveling for awhile.

The pictures are blurry because they were taken with a cell phone but it doesn't matter much as we were freezing the entire time and it shows on our faces.
