Utah, Dark Knight, Late Night, and Work...

Yesterday proved to be a very long day for me and Shane. I had a one day training class in Utah and had same day flight arrangements. Shane and I woke up at four a.m. in order to be at the airport by five. My flight left at six. Everything went so much smoother and I swear I'm becoming a pro at this flying thing. The only part I ran into trouble with was renting a car because I'm under age, and they only had SUV's that you have to be 25 to rent, as well as charging $25.00 more for each day I have a rental until I'm 25. But alas, it is what it is. I then went off to a training class that was in downtown Salt Lake. The training was supposed to be from 8:30-5:00 and the next flight out of town after 5:00 wasn't until 9:55 pm so I got stuck in Utah. Thank goodness for Stephanie, she kept me busy until I had to head home and even fed me Leatherby's Ice Cream (my favorite). Because of my late flight, (I didn't get home until 11:01 pm) Shane and I decided since we were up it was okay if we went to see Dark Knight in Imax. We loved it! It was so much fun and so worth the lack of sleep. By the time the movie was over and we were able to come home and get some sleep it was about a quarter after 3:00 in the morning. We literally suffered 24 hours of no sleep. To top it off I had to be to work by 8:00 and wake up at a quarter to 7. I was so tired today. I came home from work at five and slept until 8:00. I'm doing good now but I had such a hard time keeping my eyes open at work today. After being "home" in Utah, I also came to the realization that Boise is my "home". I love flying over the city and knowing I'm home. I love the pace, the lifestyle, my wonderful job. You name it, I've just been molded around my life here in Boise. Yesterday in Utah I struggled with traffic, the jerks on the road, how it seemed like everyone was always in a hurry no matter what they were doing, and many more. I had been missing Utah lately and was considering moving back someday, but after visiting my old workplace as well and feeling like a stranger amongst friends, I felt that I could never come back to Utah and be as happy as I am here. And now lastly, as I have said a thousand times before, Shane and I sure know how to pick the apartment complexes. We live in a really nice two level townhouse and we pay pretty well to have a newer apartment with some luxuries. We live by the police station and firehouse and felt pretty good about most of the activity that goes on around. When I was in Utah yesterday, Shane witnessed a major drug bust go down in our complex. It was quite an interesting thing and the pictures speak louder than words, however, because of their age Shane and I could suffer dearly if I were to post pictures so you will just have to take my word for it. But as always we are spectators of activities in our neighborhood that we don't approve of. I'm beginning to get used to the shock of this as well.

Its so nice to have somewhere that feels like "home". Glad things are going well, I hope the adoption process goes well for you! My aunt and uncle adopted and have the happiest little family. I am sure everything will go well!
