What a crazy life we live. I feel like I've been running a thousand miles a minute. Proof, I haven't written half of the things I would like to. Last Friday, (Fourth of July), regrettably my wonderful husband had to work. As for me however, I had the most wonderful day off. I've been putting in a lot of overtime hours and so last week only having three working days was fabulous. (I also took Monday off to spend time with Shane's family) I felt like I got so much accomplished. Not only did I start and finish the "Twilight" series books in one week, but I also sewed two of my unfinished baby blankets and even took some me time to remember my childhood.
I have been dying to read the Twilight books for a long time now because it seems like everyone is talking about them. I was super hesitant however, because vampires and werewolves, c'mon so overplayed. But I picked up the first book and I couldn't put it down. In fact, honey, I'm so sorry for neglecting you as much as I have while I've raced through each new chapter. I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and grateful that I love to read.
Next, two things you may know about me, I love children and I love to do anything crafty. Sewing is my favorite though. So naturally my favorite thing to make is baby blankets, I've made six since I've been married. As you look at the pictures you might see that my children are either going to love frogs or Sesame Street. That's why I chose to spend my day off sewing.
This is the first quilt I made, I hand stitched all of the center Elmos and I was also using left over scraps.
This is the second quilt I made and probably one of my absolute favorites. It has green satin trim around it that is just so adorable.
Lastly, I spent the day coloring. I was shopping at Borders Books when I noticed a giant coloring book and realized I just had to have one because it reminded me of my darling sister Stephanie. In fact when I came across this coloring book I stopped and just laughed in the middle of the store. You see, when we were kids, Stephanie and I had giant coloring books and they were always open on our bedroom floor. One day Stephanie was called to dinner and she jumped off the top bunk, slipped on the coloring book, and broke her arm. Why did I stop to laugh in the middle of the store then? It's one of those memories that we all talk about to this day and so I realized how much I loved my family and all of our insane past times. So here's to you Steph, I colored a big page for you.
