Baby Showers and Family Visits…

This weekend Shane and I trekked to Salt Lake City to spend time with family and attend a baby shower to a very close friend. We took the day off Friday and so we drove to Tremonton Thursday night and stopped for the night at my dad’s house where we dropped off the dog and got some sleep. Friday morning we headed to Salt Lake and met up with my sisters Stephanie and Kandi. We spent the evening together as a family. The baby shower was on Saturday and it was quite enjoyable as well. The baby is a little girl and is due in a little over a month and a half. I decided to get creative with the gift and spelled out her name, Abby. I gave them (A) pair of teething rings, (B) blanket, (B) baby socks with two cute matching tops, and a (Y) yellow hooded towel. I think it turned out so cute.
Sunday we had lunch with Shane’s sister Chelsea and then headed back to Tremonton for dinner and to pick up the dog. Luckily he was happy to see us and still remembered his mom and dad. He was so eager to go home that the minute we opened the car door he jumped right up and sat down. This is a miracle because Boomer absolutely hates car rides. We drove home and arrived at 9:30 where our heads hit the pillow and we were out. It was such a rushed weekend, but it was thoroughly enjoyable and a much needed break from everyday life. We got Harry Potter on CD from the library before leaving and we listened to it every time we got into the car. I was amazed at how much shorter it made the five and a half hour trip seem. I’m so grateful for a husband who loves to drive and a library that has free books on CD.
