Travel Update...

So, I'm still alive and no the world did not end on Friday. I did however have an awful trip. Our plane was early and so we sat landed in the middle of the runway waiting for the other planes to leave, this would have been no big deal except for it was 6:00am and I hadn't eaten and there was quite a bit of turbulence and so I my stomach was in knots and I couldn't wait to get off of the plane. Okay, problem averted we taxi in and get off the plane and I head straight for the rental cars. Oops, I'm only 23 and they are all out of cars. You must be 25 to rent SUV's and so I was turned away empty handed. I now had to choose between a taxi cab and or a shuttle. I chose the shuttle because I saw someone else climb in the van and I didn't want to be alone. My shuttle driver couldn't speak english and dropped me off in the wrong place, charged me $50 and drove off. I had to hike up the hill (a half an hours walk) to make it to my training center. Luckily my DM was there and was able to arrange me a ride back to the airport. I was in Portland from 6:00am-2:45pm and it felt like the longest day of my life. I'm definitely not a traveler and think it's pretty obvious I should never travel alone. But the challenge was enjoyable, I have a story for all of you to laugh about, and my boss pretty much agrees traveling should be kept to a minimum.
