12 Months, 52 Weeks, 365 Days, 8760 Hours, 525600 Minutes

A year is a year no matter how you look at it, and for some that year can seem like an eternity!
I am five and a half weeks into my year and it’s been creeping along ever so slowly.

What am I five and a half weeks along in?

Sadly, it’s nothing very exciting. In fact it’s kind of pathetic, but it is me and so for those who know me, you will soon see how obvious and pathetic I really am.

I’m counting my hair growth…{again}!

It was exactly 40 days ago since my hair was lopped off into something I’ve never seen before. It has been exactly 40 days that I have woken up every morning and looked in the mirror and been dissatisfied with the way I look. It has been exactly 40 days since I decided some things were better left done at home just so I didn’t have to go out and about with my hair. (Dramatic? Absolutely, but sadly, I’m serious! It’s been awful for me)

Only 40 days ago my dry brittle and lackluster 2 inch hair was a nightmare. I worried about the re-growth of a pixie haircut. I worried about the she mullet. However, today my hair is shiny and healthy again, my obstinate waves are showing through again, my color is no longer brassy, and I’ve even grown an inch! I now have 3 inch hair! If I grow an inch every five weeks, by the time my year is up I might actually have some hair (9 more inches to be exact, as long as I don’t cut it anyway)

I wish I could say this experience has taught me a lesson, but I don’t know if it has yet. I haven’t touched my hair since the catastrophe and so thus far, absolutely I’ve learned my lesson, but what about a year from now when I have medium length, annoyingly wavy and thick hair again….
