Thankful for Work…

Shane has been out of work now for 4 days shy of 2 full months! It’s been quite interesting for us to live on an extremely tight budget with only one income but we’ve also learned a lot. Thank goodness he’s going back to work though! He’s been sitting at home going insane. It wouldn’t have been so bad had we scheduled his class load a little better than 6 credits so he had something to keep him busy while I was at work, but alas live and learn. He starts tomorrow morning at 9:30 am for the brilliant and totally tedious Orientation. We are so excited to have finally found him a job after the 74 applications sent out and 4 call backs we received and even more grateful that the pay isn’t half bad. The downside of the whole mess is that he is going back to retail which means he is officially in the blackout period for time off, (that and he just started) that we have no free time for the next three months. It makes it really hard because his sister, Chelsea is having her wedding reception in two weeks and we don’t even know if he has to work yet and our plan to go home for Thanksgiving and Christmas are pretty much shot unless something miraculous happens. However, all negative things aside, I’m choosing to see the glass as half full because our prayers were answered and we were granted a full-time job that wasn’t just temporary through Christmas!
