Phase 2

We had our intake interview this morning.  Can I just say, it was nothing of what I expected.  The offices are relaxed.  We walked in and sat on a nice leather loveseat.  Our caseworker sat in his rolling office chair and sat back and relaxed with his legs crossed and we just talked.  He answered our questions.  He informed us that we are now in Phase 2 and that we have several forms that need to be filled out to continue.  Because I'm an impatient person, we came home and I've already gathered birth certificates, marriage certificates (both state and sealing), our tax returns, drivers license copies, filled out background check information to fax to Utah, made an appointment for finger printing, and made a doctors appointment for our physicals.  We are also in dire need of updated photographs of ourselves and since I'm usually the photographer behind the camera, we've comissioned our sister to hook us up and help take some photos for us. The next step, sending along an email asking for some positive aspects about who we are and what makes us stand out as a couple wanting to adopt. Watch your emails!  Now we just have to fill out a form for the state of Idaho and a few online categories that will help us build our profile.  After that is completed, we move into the single interviews and following that the Homestudy!
Tomorrow is a FSA meeting involving birth mothers.  We are very excited and my mother is attending with us.  It feels wonderful to have our families and friends supporting us through this process.  We are very positive of the future placement of an infant.
