Crafting Space

I am my mother's daughter.  I love to craft.  For where I live and the amount of space I have, I have way to many undone crafts and crafting supplies.  I've never had a space my own to work in.  Usually I'll cart a box of junk around work where ever I can find space and either leave the box in the middle of the floor until the project is done or have to cart it back to the closet.  It made it very hard to want to craft and even more so to find and have all needed supplies in one spot.  As Shane was working late last night and I've come to the conclusion that we will probably live here forever, I decided to claim my own craft area.  A place where I can leave things out overnight and not have to worry about two curious furry things digging for treasures and a place where there is room enough to work on more than one project.  Because I live in a two bedroom townhouse with very little space and both rooms already claimed, I decided to turn the closet under my stairs into a working crafting space.  I couldn't paint or decorate or build shelves like I would have preferred, but for using what I have, I am totally pleased.  The dear hubs even purchased and installed a light for me so when I'm using the room I can plug it in via extension cord.
A note, the before pictures are of crappy quality because this work was done at night with a flashlight on my head.  All pictures were taken using this light and have a circular glow.  Sorry...
Before:

We've got coats, camp chairs, a floating raft, tools, pet care, scarves, dog bones, hats, toy helicopters, air filters, and this is usually where the vacuum goes as well.  Everything is just sort of thrown in here because it's out of sight out of mind.
Here there are boxes from game consoles, weights, Christmas decorations, cooler, car cleaning supplies, Guitar Hero and drum set, TV stand from recent mounted TV, portable DVD player, extra lock sets for when we buy a house, and other miscellaneous items.  We usually throw our bikes in here too in the winter.  I don't know how, but they seem to fit perfectly.

After:
I have a crafting table with a few shelves.  There is a place for ribbons, tapes and whatever else needs hanging, as well as a place for my camera and tripod, and there is a place for my sewing machine under the table until it is ready to use.  However, because this is still an apartment closet, I have to share some space with storage items, i.e. the camp chairs under the table.  They don't seem to get in the way though so its only a minor detail.
Here is a close-up of the shelves.  I have everything neatly organized and arranged.  My first project is to cover those ugly shoe boxes and then label whats in each tub or box.
I think this is the best part.  I partitioned off the Christmas decorations with an old window curtain I had purchased.  Now it looks clean and organized.

It's by no means a wonderful craft room but for using what I have, I still think it's an amazing transformation.  I've already began working in there and love, love, love it.  I can stop what I'm doing and not have to worry about clean up.  So glad I took the time to find a place to call my own.  Now onto finding a place for all of the stuff removed from this closet so the hubs doesn't want to scream.
